It was a scorching summer in 1971 in Le Mans when he gathered the elite of racing drivers to film the epic Le Mans, centered around the legendary 24-hour race.

The movie was produced by his own company, Solar Productions. McQueen personally drove the Gulf Porsche 917 bearing the number 20.
