This very special RACING SNEAKER edition was created in collaboration with Jürgen Barth, a successful racing driver of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Jürgen Barth usually drove a fast Porsche, as he did in 1977 when, alongside Jacky Ickx, he secured overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Marini Porsche. A year later, he drove the Martini Porsche 911 in the Safari Rally. In 1980, he won the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring in a Porsche Spyder 908/3. The design of the winning car served as the inspiration for the limited-edition GRANDPRIX Racing Sneaker.

White, blue and red were the colours then and now – original Porsche houndstooth fabric on the heel and a second pair of firmer insoles with the SPORT MODE print are truly authentic. The printed black logo symbolises the free spirit of Jürgen Barth, who, as a mechanic, racing driver and amateur chef, was a bit of a rogue: hence the crossed fork & ring spanner with knife & fork. Jürgen Barth has written an original racing cookbook entitled “schnell essen” (Eat Fast); an extract from it is included as a flyer in every shoe box – the full cookbook can be ordered online under “Accessories”. This special edition, limited to 250 pairs, comes in a specially printed shoe box, a gem in its own right.
